I've written in the past about my love of shopping.. and that has yet to change. However, maybe I can turn my impulsive shopping into something that benefits the world in some way. You've probably seen or heard of Lokai bracelets before. Each bracelet is attached to a certain charity. The pink bracelet represented breast cancer and the rainbow bracelet represented LGBT community. They've also made Save The Children bracelets, Alzheimer's, (Red), and more. Lokai gives 10% of net proceeds to each respective charity! The bracelets are cute and only $18! Each month they release a new bracelet and charity.

The founders of Outrage were outraged with the sexism in America. They are a feminist organization that raises money for women's empowerment organizations. Each product features an empowering or political statement against sexism. Of course, this company is a bit controversial in what they sell. They gained a lot of recognition at the women's marches this year. They don't however, preach radicalism or promote hatred. Their message is equality and empowerment for women.

TOMS helps provide shoes, sight, water, safe birth and bullying prevention services to people in need. For each pair of shoes purchased they give an equivalent pair of shoes to those in need. Sunglass purchases fund an eye exam by medical professionals and treatments for those patients in need. With every TOMS Roasting co. products purchased, TOMS donates 140 liters of safe water to a person in need. Each bag purchase helps deliver medical materials and training vital to having a safe birth in nations in need. A purchase of a backpack helps provide training for school staff in response to bullying. TOMS is known for their One for One program.

Roma is a company that specializes in rain boots. Their prices are comparable to other rain boot brands, so overall it isn't that bad of a price. The boots are not only fashionable but also help end poverty. Their goal is simple and they achieve it one boot at a time. Unless you live in a drought, you are probably going to find a need for rain boots at some point in time, so choosing a brand devoted to end poverty is just a bonus.

So give them a look and shop in a new way: shop to make a difference in the world. There are so many ways to donate to charity just by purchasing something you would have liked anyway. Some of the stores, Pura Vida, Serengetee, and more, accept charity requests so if your most supported charity isn't featured, contact them! Instead of standing idly by, give back.
