Most people who know me know that I believe there is little hope for humanity, but this guy proves me wrong.
I, as many who know me are aware, am not very happy with the majority of the human race. We as a whole are not often nice to each other, nor are we accepting of one another. This is a sad outlook on humanity. Between Donald Trump’s hateful messages against immigrants, and ISIS’s hellbent war on anyone who is not them, to other political atmospheres that are shaping the world, the future looks pretty bleak.
On October 19th, 2016, I was working with my father in Roswell, NM. He helps people lose weight and stop smoking through hypnosis. During the weight loss seminar, there was a girl who had trouble paying for one of the packages that my father’s company sells. To be fair, they are expensive, especially if the attendee does not make a significant amount of money. The package she was looking at was $400. She went to the car, called people, and probably the bank, and finally pulled out her checkbook.
One of the guys, another attendee, was talking to me at the time, and noticed what she was doing. When she left the room for a second, he told me that he had enough money to cover half of her package.
When she came back, she pulled out her checkbook, and he handed me his card. While I was swiping it, he told her that he was paying for half of her package. I wish I could have had a photograph of her face, as you could see the happiness in her.
I noticed that after the hypnosis, they asked my father to take a picture of them, and I think I also saw them exchange phone numbers.
Keep in mind, these two people have never met before this night. And he gave her the ability to change her life.
As for me, it just reminded me that although a lot of people are hateful and want to harm others, there are still people out there that do what teachings in the Bible, Torah, and the Quran tell you to: be kind, and give to those who are less fortunate. Whether or not you are religious does not have any influence on the person you are. It is what you do for others that has an influence on who you are.
