One Trick Pony Grill & Taproom
One Trick Pony will be your next go to hot spot for eating out. Located at the heart of downtown Grand Rapids on 136 E. Fulton. They feature local artists from the Michigan area to come play music every Thursday from 8 pm.-11p.m. The restaurant is the known for being the oldest commercial building in Grand Rapids first seen in the 1800's. The restaurant originally housed Oliver Bleak's General Store which was built in 1856. This was during the time that Grand Rapids itself was only about 6 years old and had a population of about 4,000 people. Flash forward to now over 200,000 people that is quite a growth spurt.
One Trick Pony gets its iconic name from the beloved circus pony that would often be made fun of for doing one thing. But the philosophy is still the same. It is better to do something well than try to master everything. One Trick Pony leverages their "trick" as fine dining experience combined with delicious food.
Whether a budding college student or a full fledged professional One Trick will have something for you. Their menu features a great selection of appetizers: Coconut Shrimp & Pan Seared Brussels to differing lunch items such as brick oven pizza and salads. Their dinners include pastas and entrees such as New York Strip. Their decadent desserts such as Red Velvet Cake Roll and Peanut Butter Silk Pie will leave you breathless.
