Dear Shelby,

As I admire your thoughts on our dictator. Let's take time to reflect on what he's really done for our country, that's right, absolutely nothing. How many trump supports does it take to screw in a light-bulb? All of you because maybe it'll make the light bulb go off in his head and stop making stupid choices. You are basically saying "because you are illegal you don't have the right to be here", well that's a twisted way of thinking. You are saying citizens who have lived the "american dream" for many years have to be deported because they are illegal? You're saying that if a person has lived here for 30+ years, but doesn't have his/her papers, has to go back to a strange country now because they are illegal?

Now let's talk about those "foreign policies" you so kindly mentioned. What did Trump say in his election? Oh yea- "The U.S.," he declared upon announcing his presidential campaign, "has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems." How is someone wanting a better life for themselves considered them being "dumped" on us. You are supporting a person who doesn't understand how some people are coming over with nothing but a trash bag full of clothes and children clinging to their clothing to have a better life. Donald Trump has been fed with a silver spoon his entire life, so I wouldn't expect you or him to understand how that feels.

What we needed was someone who was going to see what is wrong and what's right. Not someone whose health care bill got rejected by republicans. We needed someone who was going to give us that "make America great again" slogan you used, not someone who is sending us into World War 3 because bombing an entire country was going to "make us great again."

I was one of those people who said "If Trump wins I'm moving to Canada" I was worried for the LGBTQ community, I am worried because I am a woman. I am worried because I am a bi-sexual woman living in a world that is drastically changing, he targeted us in his campaign and you can not sit here and tell me you were also a little worried too. I took place in those protests you mentioned as well, the one we had here was beautiful and I wish you could of seen it. We shouldn't want or need to put a ban on an entire religious demographic because Trump is scared. He's caused turmoil in our country. You say you want us to be united but that will never happen with him in office, I understand burning the flag is a big no no. But, you have to realize how scared we are and still am.

You said he gets to appoint three new judges and that's cool and all. but he still has 300 spots to fill in the executive branch, he's already fired 46 of President Obamas justice department attorneys.

How are we going to overturn Row vs Wade? That case holds so much historic power, it can not simply be overturned because King Trump goes "off with its head." Being a pro-choice woman, I believe we should still have outreach programs, like planned parenthood. The whole "pro-life" movement is so twisted. You want babies to be born, wanted or not, but if people deliver unwanted babies you are suggesting over-crowded orphanages and homes. You are suggesting a higher fetal morality rate because people can't care for the babies you made them keep. You are suggesting that it's our fault if we fall pregnant but birth control and condoms aren't 100% effective. You are suggesting if we go full term with a baby that could possibly kill us for being pregnant then it is our fault.

"I didn't vote for Hillary Clinton because she's woman." That was taken right from your article. Let me stop you and tell you how f**ked up that is. You are telling me you didn't vote for a perfectly good candidate because of her gender. That's royally screwed and you should know that. I voted for Hilary because she promised us a future, she didn't promise us a world that was run like a business when the world needed a leader not a dictator. I didn't walk around a say "I didn't vote for Trump because he is a man," because I am not sexist. You stating that, you just made a sexist comment but you claim you are not sexist.

I never mentioned Trump in this article as President because #NotMyPresident.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
