I am a huge advocate for living in a non-diet mindset and for practicing intuitive eating and more importantly, just loving yourself. Life is short, and food and movement are things to enjoy, not fear or dread.
That's why when I hear people (mostly women) saying that their new year resolution is to go on "X" diet or to lose an unrealistic amount of weight it makes me want to just hug them and tell them they are beautiful just the way they are.
I know it's a little bit past the official start of the new year, but these resolutions are things that you can start at any time and things that should last a lifetime, not just a year.
1. Find a new passion
I believe that passion is so incredibly important. I believe that passions are what keep our souls ignited and are what gets us out of bed in the morning. Passions are what makes you excited to be alive, and I think it's so important to explore your passions and to find a new one. Make it a point to try new things and to do the things you love on a regular basis.
2. Strengthen the relationships in your life; including the relationship with yourself
Relationships are the foundation of our day to day lives; especially the relationship with ourselves. In order to build any other fulfilling relationship, you must build the relationship that you have with you. Once you have that down, building and strengthening the relationships you have in your life is so much more fulfilling than any amount of weight or exercise regiment will ever give you.
3. Everything you say "I wish I could do that" DO THAT
I am so guilty of this. I see bloggers that I admire so much and say "Oh, I wish I could do 'X' like them," or "I wish I was more like them in 'X' aspect of life. Starting this year I challenge to take your wishes and make them into your reality. Think back to all the scenarios you didn't do something because you doubted yourself or thought that you weren't capable of doing whatever it was to the level you wanted. Focus this new year on putting your wishes into action and doing all the things you've always wanted to do.
