Resolutions For The New Year
Huffpost British Columbia

Christmas time is over, and we all know what's next. New Years. New year, new you. 2017 is the year for new resolutions. It's the year to forget about 2016 and lead to the best year yet, 2017. Come New Year's Eve, you'll be asked what your resolutions for the new year are. Sure, they don't always last, but maybe this year will be different. Here is a list of possible resolutions for you to make this year.

1. Excel At Your Job/School

Shoot for that promotion or for that 4.0 GPA.

2. Try Something New

3. Quit An Addiction

Whether that addiction is drugs, alcohol, or food, now is the perfect time to start new and kick it.

4. Lose Weight

I know, I know, this is a resolution that is repeated every year. The gym is full for the first few weeks of January, but why don't we keep it full all of 2017 this time?

5. Go On An Adventure

Whether you're young or old, go and do something you've always wanted to do. It's never too late.

6. If You're A Yes Man, Learn How To Say No

7. Make New Friends

8. Ask Your Crush Out

This is just a suggestion, I can understand if it's not followed through. I might not even follow through.

9. Stop Procrastinating

This one is a hard one. I personally love procrastinating. I find I do my best work under pressure, but with that said, it's probably best to do things ahead of time. Imagine how much more you could get done, how unstressed you'd be. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

10. Become More Confident

Make eye contact with everyone you pass. Smile and talk to them. Being more confident will easily boost your self-esteem. People can see that you're confident, making you more beautiful.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
