My whole life I have gone to Disney World about every other year. When I was little, I didn't understand the point of the theme park, Epcot. To me, it wasn't fun walking around the different countries because it didn't interest the little seven-year-old me back then. My opinion on the matter changed when I went to Disney World last year.
Now it may be because I am now 18 years old and more mature, but the past time I visited the countries in Epcot I had the best time of my life. My family and I went during the Food and Wine Festival which happens every year in October at Disney's Epcot. This meant that each country in Epcot served that country's famous drinks and samples of their nation's food. Since there are so many different countries set up in Epcot, I always found it confusing trying to figure out the names of each. However, the last time that we went, Epcot designed a game. The game involves going to each country and finding the character, Remy, from Disney's "Ratatouille." Most people would think that playing hide and seek with a rat is childish, but it was fun for my whole family to play.
Finding Remy forced you to discover the names of each country and made you explore the country because you were trying to find Remy in each country! Once you found him, there were stickers that you put on a piece of paper to describe the way Remy looked and which food he was with because he had different poses and food at each country. Once all the Remys are found, you get to pick out a free Remy collectible pin that is only available at Disney World.
My family and I went Remy hunting for hours and we made it a competition to see who could find Remy first at each country. I will never forget this adventure and I now know all of the countries because of this simple, fun game. I may be getting older, but deep down I will always fall for a cheesy game, like finding Remy.
