Reminiscing The Days When The Pandemic Did Not Exist Yet

Those days were peaceful. We could do whatever we wanted. We did not have to be that scared of germs. We did not need to keep washing our hands. We only did so when we needed to.

I miss the days when the pandemic did not exist yet. Those days were peaceful. We could do whatever we wanted. We did not have to be that scared of germs. We did not need to keep washing our hands. We only did so when we needed to. We did not need to sanitize our cell phones every day. We did not need to wear masks. We could freely breathe in the fresh air. We did not need to be scared of others getting us sick when we go out. We did not need to bring hand sanitizers with us. We could touch anything without worrying that we will get sick. We could touch our faces. We could touch others.

Now, those days have ended when the pandemic was born. These days, anyone can get us sick. We will not know until we start to experience symptoms of covid-19. We are supposed to take a lot of precautions when we go out, but some laws said that we do not need to take a lot of precautions. Now, a lot of people got sick with covid-19 and died as a result. People say not to worry until we experience the symptoms. To be honest, experiencing the symptoms is too late because it will cause a lot of chaos at home, especially for big families. The symptoms will easily spread to one another. It is hard to escape from them. To prevent them from spreading, one must take a lot of precautions by quarantining themselves or living somewhere outside of their home.

These changes make me frustrated and resentful of the world that we live in today. No one saw this coming, but it could have been avoided. Who knew that one careless mistake can cost the lives of so many people?

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
