A Friendly Reminder To Never Settle

You deserve more than second best.

It's so easy to get caught up in life that we forget to take a moment to think about what we deserve. I did some searching to find you some reminders:

1. "I've made mistakes in my life. I've let people take advantage of me, and I accepted way less than I deserve. But I've learned from my bad choices and even though there are some things I never get back and people who will never be sorry. I'll know better next time and I won't settle for anything less than I deserve."

We are human. You are going to make mistakes. If you never did, you would never grow.

2. "Don't settle: Don't finish crappy books. If you don't like the menu, leave the restaurant. If you're not on the right path, get off it." -Chris Brogan

All it takes is taking the power and putting it in YOUR hands.

3. "There is no passion to be found playing small-in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." -Nelson Mandela

The possibilities are endless when you don't settle for less than endless.

4. "Don't settle for anything less than magic." -C.R. Bitter

Make sure it sets your soul on fire.

5. "There's so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad overs someone who doesn't. There's a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn't need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself up with love. Not anyone else. Become a whole being on your own. Go on adventures, fall asleep in the woods with friends, wander around the city at night, sit in a coffee shop on your own, write on bathroom stalls, leave notes in library books, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot. Do all things with love, but don't romanticize life like you can't survive without it. Live for yourself and be happy on your own. It isn't any less beautiful, I promise." -Emery Allen

Don't half-ass your life just because you don't have a significant other to share it with.

6. "You only get one life. It's actually your duty to live it as fully as possible." -Me Before You

YOLO, am I right?

7. "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it."-Steve Jobs

He sure knew. He created a brand we couldn't imagine life without, by NOT settling.

8. "Walk tall or baby don't walk at all."- Bruce Springsteen

Preach it, boss.

9. "Settling is the art of taking the easy way out. Sure, it will work. But you will never know what was truly in store for you if you had the courage to do what was right in your heart."

Are you a quitter? Didn't think so.

10. "What we have to remember is that we can still do anything. We can change our minds. We can start over. The notion that it's too late to do anything is comical. It's hilarious. We can't. We must not lose this sense of possibility because in the end it's all we have."- Marina Keegan

This moment is yours.

When my days are full and busy, I forget to check in with myself. I forget to ask myself if I am truly doing and being the person I want to be. Sometimes I lose sight of this and you probably do too. Sometimes all it takes is a few words to remind you of what you really deserve.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
