1. This isn't just for you.
On average, a college student away for school will spend eight months a year on campus. That leaves only four months a year back at home, or somewhere away for school. Three months of that time is during the summer, and three weeks of the other month is winter break. That leaves one week of time away from school, and that is spring break. I spend one-third of my year at home, and during that third, I tend to stress out about how I want to go away. However, I understand being home is not just for myself, but for my family and friends back here. Though they live their lives without me, I am the one who gets to enjoy a new experience every day. I see new faces every day, I get to recreate myself, I am living my best life. They can enjoy their lives and what they do, but my friends and family that stay at home cannot recreate who they are because they are constantly surrounded by people who have known them. You and your stories are refreshing.
2. Work part-time, not full-time.
Though it is important to be able to go back to school with money in your pocket, your life should not revolve around work. This is still technically your break, and if you are not able to relax, then are you really on break? I know it may seem that money is root of all happiness, but it is also root to all evil, and you cannot let the negative side effects of money overcome the good.
3. We are not immortal.
Enjoy the moment. We do not get to live forever, and it is important that you aren't just alive in this life, but that you're living. If one day you decide to have children or get married or both, you want to have stories to tell, and you can't get those by staying in bed. This is our time to be care-free, and we should take advantage of it.
