Waking up at 7:00 a.m. and realizing it’s Ultra Weekend, I start to freak out. I’ve been counting down since the turn of the New Year. Now, it was here. All that I had to do was grab a friend, finish packing and hop on a plane to Miami. I remember walking on the plane and my heart racing because I was way too excited to go. I just wanted to be in Miami at that point.
Miami was packed for this weekend. Ultra was 165,000 people, give or take; and everyone was ready for a wild weekend. To get to the hotel we spent an hour and a half in the car just to get to South Beach. Once we got into our room, we started getting ready for the first day. All that was on our mind was getting to Ultra in time to see the people we wanted to see. All we wanted to do was have the time of our lives and just rage. We wanted to have the time of our lives and we weren’t going to leave the first day without doing so.
Personally, I loved the third day. Also the last day. Everyone knew it was the last day to rage and everyone went a little bit more wild. There was more beer spilled, more dancing, more of everything. Definitely a blast. I remember going to Marshmallow and there were so many people at his set that it was overflowing into the main street. People were dancing, and grooving to Marshmello. Unforgettable. When Ultra finished for the night, I remember the endless amounts of fireworks. Everyone yelling. Everyone didn’t want to leave. Walking out of Ultra and looking for shuttles, we looked over to our left and there was a mini dance party. Someone yelled, “Ultra never stops”. And people just started dancing on the street.
The atmosphere at Ultra was amazing. Everyone was nice. I didn’t want to leave. Those four days in Miami were unforgettable. I didn’t want to get back on a plane, leave the warmth, and go back to the cold. I wanted to stay in Miami for forever. I met some great people from all over the world. The depression is real. I miss Ultra. I miss the atmosphere. I miss meeting people from all around the world. It was a great opportunity, and I’m so glad I was able to go on this adventure. It was an opportunity of a lifetime. Thankful that I was able to go on this trip. Only 263 days until Ultra Miami 2017. See ya there.
