People always talk about how someone they knew was affected by gun violence. This article is not about gun violence; it's about the life that Christina Grimmie was and will forever be. She was a light in the dark. A beautiful star that will forever shine above us. I first heard of her when I was pretty young and she was on YouTube singing covers of some popular songs, but also some Christian songs. I have never really been religious. I don't even know if I fully believe in God, but I know she cherished her relationship with Him with all her heart. She loved Him more than anything and I believe her relationship with God made her the person she will forever be.
I don't really understand how this could happen. I don't understand how someone could take away someone who was just living her dream and was so kind. I never got to meet her, although I was supposed to but it got rained out. I had seen her in concert five times and I would get super excited every time I saw her. I was up dancing and singing to her songs even when not many people were standing up because they were just waiting for Selena. I came for Selena and Christina most of the time because I loved them both.
Her album 'Find Me' helped me through so much in my life at the time because I was in a bad depression and her music just made me feel better. That's the legacy she left behind for me -- someone who influenced my taste in music and the way music affects a person. Her music had healed me and gave me hope in myself and others. That's the thing: she always had hope in others and that's what made her so great and talented. She used her voice to spread a message and sang songs with meaning and heart in them. That's what a true artist does and that's what made her a true artist.
i still have trouble comprehending how someone could be so senseless as to take away this talented woman. He may have taken her body away, but her soul and her music will live on forever. She was a true talent and although not everyone knew her name, the people that did wholeheartedly loved her. She made her fans feel happy and loved just by taking a song request that someone commented on a YouTube video. She died doing what she loved, meeting fans, and they say she greeted her killer with open arms. She was that kind of loving person.
Even if you didn't know her, go listen and watch her because you will most likely become a fan and then her memory will keep living on. I hate that many people will know her as the singer who got killed by some guy and not the singer who left a mark on everybody she touched with her music and her heart. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten, because that girl was talented and she deserves to be remembered. Take a moment and go watch some videos of hers. Take a moment and appreciate the impact she had on peoples lives. Just because her body is gone, never forget that her memory and her music will always reside in you. Rest In Paradise Beautiful.
