As we near the Fourth of July, I can't help but get excited about the fireworks and the bonfires with family and friends. A night full of stories and laughs.
I also can't help but think about the fact that my soldier won't be with me to celebrate this year. (Granted, I am thankful he's still on American soil.) My heart breaks for the families who will go without their soldier as well, and who have had to celebrate multiples holidays without them.
Whether you respect the military or not, although I have absolutely no clue how you couldn't, it is important to keep these military families in our thoughts all the time. To send prayers and good vibes their way always. After all, they who wait serve too.
Give some thanks as we enjoy our summer barbecues, or our winter sledding, or even just our daily coffee. Think of the people who have fought, are fighting, and will fight for your right to be free. As for the Fourth of July, remember who those fireworks are really for.
