Finals week has arrived and I know just how painful it can be. Don't let this week bring you stress! I know, impossible right? Well, we can try our best! Study hard and don't give up, remember this is to better your future career one day! Follow these 7 reminders and it may make finals week just a tad easier for you.

1. Forget about looking good

Don’t worry about trying to impress anyone. It’s finals week, wear the comfiest clothes in your closet, forget makeup, and call it a day. Besides, you look beautiful either way.

2. Take breaks

I know you want to study 24/7 for that 4.0, but taking breaks from studying is important too. It’s not good to overload your brain with information. Take some breaks by going for a walk and getting fresh air. Plus, I know you probably haven’t seen the outside since you’ve been so cramped up in your dorm studying.

3. Find a quiet space

When you do study, find an area that’s quiet and away from everyone. Concentrating is usually harder with noise and people around, but some people have different preferences. Whatever your preference is, make it happen!

4. Worry less

Getting yourself overwhelmed over finals will cause even more stress. Try to relax and not worry so much. Go in on exam day with a positive attitude. Remind yourself that you have the ability to do well.

5. Eat more

Yes, eat lots of food, seriously. Why do you think we call fattening food, “comfort food.” When we get stressed out we tend to eat more, and we usually go for the unhealthy food. This may not be a bad thing to do when stressing over finals week. If it makes you feel better, then do it.

6. Rest up

Sleep is important! Many college students run on 5 hours of sleep at most, but make finals week different. I know you’re probably shaking your head saying, “this is the week I’m ganna get even less sleep than usual,” but if you stick to a study plan, you should be able to get some rest; however, I’m not saying this will be effective for everyone. Sleep is important because it helps your brain function better and could improve your chances for receiving a higher exam grade. Make finals week the week you get more sleep in college than ever.

7. Don’t give up

No one enjoys finals week. Even if you think you’re ganna absolutely bomb the exam, take a deep breath and stay positive. Have an open mind and some hope before taking your finals. If you give up, you’ll regret it. You’ll look back on the day you had no hope in passing your final and completely failed it, and wish you didn’t. One can only cram so much into their brain. Try your hardest and even if you still fail, remember that you did your best. Just don’t give up!

Good luck on your finals everyone!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
