Work, school, clubs, relationships, bills, stress, frustration, and tired. Being young, we never had to worry about any of that, it was never something we had to think about or even have to deal with. When we got ourselves in trouble, it wasn’t our problem to deal with but the parents. Years later, we find ourselves in trouble and we are responsible of fixing it. Childhood was the greatest years of our lives because we just lived happily each day until that one day when we woke up and realized there were some big responsibilities and duties hanging over our shoulders. The scary dark future that everyone was talking about was finally something we would have to face on our own which is clearly confusing, stressful and overwhelming. Wouldn’t it just be wonderful to relive my childhood, to feel emotions and memories of many years ago? This summer before heading back to school, I did just that. I found myself in moments that I shared with my past child life, and it felt amazing to go through it again, especially when I knew it was going to be a while for some free time.

Here are five ways to relive your childhood.

1. Going to an arcade.

Arcades are there for a reason, to have fun! It is literally a place of fun and adventure. Yeah it might seem a little weird entering an arcade that is filled with kids, but to them you’re the cool kids. Nothing can beat playing an old game of Pac-Man, or a Go-Kart race with some of your good friends.

2. Re-watching old tv shows and movies.

Ah the good old shows that you use to watch as a kid, the characters you used to look up to as you grew up. “Spongebob," “The Rugrats”, “The Powerpuff girls” “Power Rangers."

Maybe you can even make a tent with the pillows in your house and watch tv in there.

3. Board Games.

It’s never too late to play a board game with friends, especially ones you use to play when you were a child. “Scrabble," “The Game of Life."

4. Eating Ice Cream, and lots of it.

Yeah maybe you will have to hit the gym or run a mile in the morning, but for that moment...Just do it. Mix the flavors, take seconds, thirds and even fourths, try something new, and add candy!

5. Bike Rides

When was the last time you rode your bike in the park on a Sunday afternoon? Or even using roller skates and a scooter! Although it wasn't considered "exercise" when we were younger, so don't think of it like that... think of it like "fun-ercise." Maybe even put the helmet on just to remember the good old days.

It may look silly or weird at your age to be doing that, but it will feel so good to let go of the stress from the week, by doing things you use to do as a child.

I spent my summer doing this and many other activities, because as we get older we don't have much time to do this with all the 'adulting' we are busy doing. Take some time for yourselves and just have fun.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
