Britney Spears just recently announced that she will have another album coming out at the end of the month, and my inner 8-year-old self is screaming with excitement. Britney claims that this album will have a new sound, so this is the perfect time to reflect on some of the most iconic jams that Spears has released to date. Just in case you're like me and love all of the songs, there will be a Spotify playlist below for you to enjoy whenever you need your Britney fix!

1. "...Baby One More Time"

Whenever this song comes on, I feel the need to braid my hair and put on Britney’s iconic schoolgirl outfit from the music video. As soon as this song starts playing, I automatically start swaying back and forth and feel the need to bust a dance move. This song may have been released in 1999, but 17 years later it is still loved and treasured by many.

2. "(You Drive Me) Crazy"

This song is from the same album as “Hit Me Baby One More Time,” and it is just as catchy of a song. This is a go-to karaoke tune for many (including myself) and is also a great song to sing in the shower.

3. "Oops... I Did it Again"

This song may not just be one of Britney’s best, but it is also one of the best songs to come out of the early 2000s. Every girl at one point in her life has pictured herself in Britney’s red jumpsuit from the music video. True fans of the song even have the middle dialogue memorized. All I have to say is, “I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end.”

4. "Stronger"

"Stronger” is one of Britney’s first girl power anthems. If you are more advanced at karaoke, this is a great song choice for you. This song makes you want to grab all your gal pals and strut down the street in slow motion. Enough said.

5. "Lucky"

This song is most definitely a tearjerker. Some say that this song is about Britney herself, and that makes it all the more emotional. Unlike many emotional songs, this one can be danced to. Who knew being a celebrity would be so hard?

6. "I'm A Slave 4 U"

I’m terrified of snakes, but whenever I hear this song, I seek out a bright yellow boa constrictor and fantasize about performing on the VMA stage. Britney began evolving her sound and making more mature music here, but the quality of her songs didn’t decrease a bit. I’m a slaaaaaave for you!

7. "Overprotected"

This is another song of Britney’s that seems to come from a personal spot in her heart. However, it is still another dance jam. If you’re looking for a follow-up song to belt in the shower, this is the one for you. I know it’s easy to get caught up in these songs, but I am not advising you to try dancing in the shower.

8. "Me Against the Music"

Many remember this as the song where Madonna and Britney shared a kiss during the 2003 VMAs, but this song is so much more than that. Britney has done many collaborations, but this one has an extra flair that takes it up a notch.

9. "Toxic"

This may be the most legendary Britney Spears song ever. Like I’m talking of all time. Naturally, it had to be included on this list. I’ve met very few people who have never heard this song. This song never fails to liven up a party, or a home alone sing along.

10. "Everytime"

This is one of Britney’s slower songs, but it’s still a classic. After seeing in Britney in concert flying onto the stage attached to angel wings, this song has stuck out to me even more. This is a great song to shed some tears to or even practice your lyrical dancing.

11. "Piece of Me"

This song goes out to all of Britney’s haters, and I find it to be a great listen when I have a low self-esteem. Plug in your headphones and listen to this on the way to class and just see how confident you feel when you’re walking into a 10 a.m. lecture.

12. "Break the Ice"

This song flew a little bit under the radar but isn’t any less great. As I’ve said about a million times before, this song makes for a superior dance party (either alone or with friends). If I were in a girl band, I feel like we would do a stellar cover of this song.

13. "Womanizer"

This one goes out to anybody who’s broken your heart! It’s like the pop version of “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood, but with more dance moves. If you haven’t heard this song before on the radio, you may have heard it in the video game Just Dance.

14. "Circus"

I’ve never had any interest in attending the actual circus, but this song makes the show sound a little more appealing. Never in my life have I had a greater craving to ride an elephant or train a lion.

15. "Till the World Ends"

This song is the first off of Britney’s "Femme Fatale" album, and it became a club sensation. If you look hard enough, there’s a remix featuring Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha that makes this great song even better.

16. "Hold It Against Me"

This is one of those songs that you can’t sing because instead, you sort of scream the chorus. Despite the fact that I was smack-dab in the middle of my awkward phase at 15 years old, this song always made me feel like a supermodel.

17. "Perfume"

I believe this song was just a four minute long advertisement for Britney’s perfume, but I’m 100% not mad about. This song goes out to all of the jealous girlfriends out there. Britney understands you.

18. "Make Me..."

This song came out earlier this year as a preview to what the rest of Britney’s new album is going to sound like, and if it’s anything like this, I’m going to LOVE it.

There are so many amazing Britney songs, and I couldn’t fit them all on this list. Whether you're at a party, at the gym, or even at work, Britney Spears has at least one song that you are sure to love!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
