The 2000s were a fantastic time period. Especially in the music world. In recent times, I have really been struggling to find new music that I truly enjoy. As a result, it is almost 2017 and I am still listening to my favorite bands from the first decade of the century. And I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. As a college student trying to find myself in adult life, listening to the music that helped shaped my adolescent is soothing. I feel like we can all agree that our adolescent years were not always the best years. So with finals approaching and stress levels skyrocketing, I highly recommend thumbing through your music library and rediscovering those bands you used to love. Here are a few suggestions of my own in case you forgot how great these bands still are:
1. My Chemical Romance
2. The All-American Rejects
3. Boys Like Girls
4. Mayday Parade
5. We The Kings
6. LINKIN PARK
7. Green Day
8. The Downtown Fiction
9. Good Charlotte
10. Blink-182
While I know this list is far from perfect and is definitely incomplete, I hope it serves as a good place for you to start your crusade back into the music from middle school and high school. Hopefully it will help relax you and remind you of less stressful days like it does for me.
