I have a tendency to be uptight and overanalyze every situation that stresses me out the smallest bit. Sometimes I think that if I did not do something perfectly then I didn't do it right. However, I need to be able to take on tough situations without destroying my mental stability. So how can I loosen up and not be so hard on myself during difficult situations?

I understand that I need to change my perspective on stressful conditions. I may want to be in control and for the results to turn out the way I want them, but I am not going to be in control of everything. I also need to let go of unrealistic standards. Letting unrealistic standards go will help take intense pressure off of me. Being uptight stifles creativity, happiness, and healthy relationships, so having lots of stress in the workplace will negatively effect you. Coping with life's challenges can be difficult, but if you let all of your problems get to you then they can take a toll on your health. In order to to get on a path to improvement you need to exercise, get some sleep, meditate, and let go. It's important that you don't sweat the small things in life.

Through relaxing more and stressing less, I've seen my happiness and productivity increase. It's necessary to keep your head up in stressful situations because you don't want to it to negatively effect your health and your happiness. Remember to set realistic goals for yourself as well as enjoy life.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
