Life is a crazy place. Everything seems to move at a million miles per hour, and we are just constantly trying to keep up. But each day feels like we're falling more and more behind. With the unpredictable future ahead and past we want to forget, the present seems like a certain kind of purgatory. Stress, above all, prevails – no matter our mood – and we wait patiently for those moments where we might be less overwhelmed than usual. But college has taught me that, no matter what, there will always be something that I could be doing, and that leaves me with a great deal of stress. In order to stay sane and disconnect from the madness that surrounds us, we have to take time for ourselves. We have to step away from our phones and our responsibilities and allow our minds to wander far beyond reality. We should do this by reading good book, coloring a picture or even just sitting quietly and letting go of our obligations. Take time for yourself. Let go and be at peace with the world. Take in the beauty of the world around you, rather than the panic. Here are 11 great places to escape to when life becomes a little bit too much to handle.
