13 Types Of College Relationships That Are Perfectly Represented By The Couples in 'That ‘70s Show'

"That '70s Show" may be set in the 1970s, however it successfully depicts relationships that students in college may experience today.

Anyone who has seen "That '70s Show" will know that the series is filled with many different types of relationships. While fictional, the show and many of these relationships are relevant because it depicts relationships at the transitional period between high school and college when a lot is changing in your life.

1. Eric and Donna: The couple that dates forever

They may have met in college or in high school like Eric and Donna, but this couple makes being in a relationship look easy. The mere length of their relationship gives people hope for college relationships.

2. Jackie and Kelso: The couple that is constantly breaking up and making up

This couple breaks up over every little bumped in the road like Jackie and Kelso. They're both reactionary and the tiniest things set them off. Why they feel the need to try again after one partner cheater or did something irrational is a mystery to everyone.

3. Hyde and Jackie: The couple that is polar opposites

Maybe they used to hate each other and were constantly at each other's throats like Hyde and Jackie, maybe they just have different friends and never really crossed paths but everyone is a little shocked when they find out this relationship is actually happening.

4. Jackie and Kelso: The relationship in which one partner is completely whipped

It's no question who is running this relationship.

5. Fez and Caroline: The relationship in which one partner is kinda crazy and manipulative and everyone but their S.O. notices

I hate this types of relationship because one partner suffers but they're unable to realize that the relationship is unhealthy.

6. Hyde and Jackie: The couple that needs to learn how to communicate

Hyde and Jackie's relationship would have been so much better if they would just communicate. Their relationship is wracked with confusion because they're constantly beating around the bush.

7. Donna and Eric: The relationship in which one partner is constantly making sacrifices for their lump of a partner

I absolutely love "That '70s Show" but one of my least favorite parts of it is Eric and Donna's relationship. Donna is constantly making sacrifices for Eric like staying home from college for him and in return Eric leaves her at the alter and flees to Africa.

8. Donna and Casey: The relationship in which one partner dates the other because they are older and as a result seem cooler

This relationship is so common in college, especially among college freshmen. I see so many women in their freshmen year of college dating older guys and constantly hear people asking why she is dating him. The woman is often charismatic, pretty, and successful while the guy is none of these, begging the question of what she sees in him.

9. Kelso and Laurie: The relationship that happens just so people can piss their exs off and prove they can find someone else

In the case of Kelso and Laurie, the relationship is a result of Kelso's eagerness to prove he can find another girlfriend and Laurie's hatred of Jackie. In this type of relationship, both partners are clearly vengeful, however their break is clean as their relationship started merely to make an ex jealous or prove that they could find someone better.

10. Fez and Nina: The relationship in which one partner is super proud of and the other partner tries to hide

This type of relationship is always sad to watch. One partner is super excited about the relationship while the other tries to act as if it doesn't exist, which begs the question: why are you in this relationship if you aren't proud of it?

11. Donna and Randy: The relationship that moves too fast

Maybe it's the end of the year and you're forced to figure out what you are before you go home, maybe someone's family is moving, whatever the reason the fun, flirty part of the relationship is cut short and the couple is forced into a relationship before they even know if they want one.

12. Jackie and Fez: The couple that starts out as friends

They've been friends for a while, but eventually their friendship blossoms into something else.

13. Donna and Eric, Jackie and everyone: The couple that is in a rush to get married

Like Eric and Donna, they're in a hurry to get hitched. This is the couple that constantly talk about when they get married even if they haven't been dating for very long. Whenever something wedding related comes up it's allows "When I marry Chad…", "When Chad proposes I want him to…", or "At our wedding…" When they've been dating for 5 years it can be cute but when they met on Tinder 3 weeks ago it can be pretty annoying.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
