There are buckets of different places you could be in your love life this Valentine’s Day. You could be alone or with the love of your life or even somewhere in between. What better way to judge where you’ll be this year than based on your favorite character from "The Office"?

1. Michael Scott: In a long distance relationship

You and your boo could get through any obstacle. Distance is just a blip on the radar of your great love story. The two of you are truly soulmates. Don’t let something that lovely go.

2. Dwight Schrute: Friends with benefits

No one can tie you down. You bring the whole party all on your own. However, sometimes it is nice to have someone on the side for when you’re feeling it. Call up your special friend for a night out.

3. Pam Beesly: Engaged

By this time next year, you could be happily married. For now, you’re in the in-between of your relationship. You’re halfway to spending the rest of your life with your one true love. Enjoy this fun segment of your life while it lasts.

4. Jim Halpert: Friend-zoned

There may not be anyone closer to the person you’re in love with than you, but you still might not have what it takes just yet. Save the grand gestures for next year or else the very thoughtful gift you hand-make could be returned with a “Thanks, pal” and a friendly hug. Keep your chin up and stay hopeful. What’s meant to be will be.

5. Andy Bernard: Wooing

Ever the gentle(wo)man, you’re in this game to court your S.O. and win their everlasting affections. Your sensual serenades will not go unnoticed this year. You’ve really got what it takes to seal the deal.

6. Toby Flenderson: Divorced

Maybe it didn’t work out before. Everyone makes mistakes and sometimes it takes a few tries before you find the person that you’re meant to be with. Don’t let this get you down. Spend time with your family and loved ones and let fate do its job.

7. Kevin Malone: Single

You’re gonna be spending this Valentine’s Day alone and that’s perfectly okay. You keep doing you and someday someone will come along to appreciate that. Treat ya self with some discount chocolate on the fifteenth.

8. Erin Hannon: Crushin’

You’ve got your mind on someone. They may not know you’re looking just yet, but keep your eyes on the prize and it could pay off by next Valentine’s Day.

9. Angela Martin: Surrounded by cats

All 16 of your cats will be by your side this year. Who needs people when you could have all the furry friends you could ever wish for snuggled up with you in the cold? Sounds like a purrfect holiday indeed.

10. Kelly Kapoor: It’s complicated

You’re not really sure how to categorize your relationship status this Valentine’s Day. You’re kind of waiting for someone to declare their undying love for you, but at the same time, you’re kind of gonna be pissed off if they do. Chill out and let whatever’s gonna happen happen this year.

11. Meredith Palmer: Open relationship

You likely have someone in the picture, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a few others involved in your life as well. You just kind of go with the flow and see what life brings you. Keep doing you.

12. Ryan Howard: Playing the field

You don’t need anyone but yourself. If someone is interested in you, good for them. Why wouldn’t they be? But you won’t let them keep you from seeing what other opportunities arise.

13. Stanley Hudson: Married... I guess

You’ve found someone worth your time... sometimes. Maybe they aren’t your perfect match, but they’re someone who agreed to marry you. Cherish it. Maybe get some dinner.

14. Phyllis Vance: Happily married

There is no romance in the world greater than yours. You’ve found someone that values your hug at a whopping $1000. Enjoy your special day with them and rejoice in the rare love you’ve found.

15. Oscar Martinez: In a stable relationship

You’ve got something good going on. Maybe they’re the one, maybe they’re just around for now. Whatever the case, you have what it takes to keep someone around. Be happy with them and enjoy what you’ve got.

16. Creed Bratton: Top secret

No one but you knows what’s going on in your love life. That’s the only person that needs to know. Why? Who’s asking???

Wherever you are in your life this year, I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
