I love watching "The Bachelor," but obviously not all of the relationships work out, which is why they created "Bachelor in Paradise" and "The Bachelor Winter Games." Specifically, in "The Bachelor Winter Games," we saw Ashley Laconetti and Canadian Kevin Wendt develop a relationship together.
It was especially exciting during the season when Ashley and Kevin went on an overnight date and Ashley made it known she lost her virginity! We were all rooting for them and when it came out that they split, my heart broke.
At this point, Ashley and Jared Haibon were amazingly close friends. Ashley had previously made it known that she had feelings for Jared, but he wanted to remain friends. It wasn't until after "The Bachelor Winter Games" did he realize he wanted to be more than friends with Ashley.
Personally, I'm a skeptic.
The timing seems weird because this is the only time he's show interest in taking their relationship to the next level, and only after she's publicly made it known she lost her virginity.
People can get freaked out about that stuff, totally understandable, and Jared seemed fairly adamant about trying to date other people. It is just interesting that their relationship only got started once she got out of a pretty serious love connection with Kevin. Just saying.
Nevertheless, Ashley and Jared's story continues to inspire those who wish to make it out of the friend zone.
