10 Things You Know To Be True If You're Dating A Foodie

For almost a year and a half now, I have had the privilege of being in a relationship with someone who shares my passion for food. Our shared love for food is one of my favorite aspects of our relationship, and honestly, one of the biggest things that make us who we are as a couple.

If you, too, have a relationship with a foodie, here's a few things I'm sure you know to be true:

1. It is so much more than "going out to eat"

Every time you go out to eat, you are going on a food adventure. There is always a new restaurant you want to try. If you are going to restaurants where you have eaten before, you are definitely trying something new!

2. Always appetizers.

Because who doesn't want to pregame their food with food?

(There's ALWAYS room for sushi pizza)

3. It is worth every penny

When going out, whether it is spontaneous or planned in advance, neither of you take into consideration the cost of it. Food is something that makes both of you happy, and you can't put a price on happiness!

4. No adventure is complete without a food stop.

It doesn't matter what you're doing or where you're supposed to be going, there is always time for food. And new places call for new restaurant stops!

5. Food coma naps are the best kind of naps.

You must always give in to the food coma...

6. "UGH I'm so jealous"

While jealousy in a relationship usually isn't a good thing, this jealousy stems from wanting the food that the other person has. When we aren't on a food adventure together, it's always a little fun to make my boyfriend jealous of what I'm eating. At the start of our relationship, we had a contest to see who could make the other person more jealous of their food- loser bought the other person Chipotle. (I won)

7. Avoid hangriness at ALL costs!

If one person is hangry, neither person is happy. Get some food for them ASAP... and try not to be the reason that they are hangry.

8. "Can I see a picture of your boyfriend?"

Sure you can! But, um, they are basically all of him sitting across from me at a table... (one of his happiest places, so I wouldn't have it any other way)

9. Food is the other woman

Your foodie probably loves food more than anything, including you, and you totally understand.

10. Eating out isn't as fun without them

Over winter break, a Wawa opened by my house. My foodie and I had made lots of trips while we were home. He left for school again much earlier than me, and when I went to go to Wawa for the first time without him, I realized that it was not the same without someone there to love it with me. I am always counting down the days until our next food adventure.

This is a list of everywhere we have eaten! And there are still many more delicious additions to come. To see our food adventure, follow @jaceeats on Instagram!

Happy eating!!

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Some universities only get two or three days off for Thanksgiving break. Or, if your university is like mine, you get the whole week off go go home. A whole week off is a long time. I'm not complaining, because I'd rather have a whole week off than three days, but there is a lot of down time. Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.

For college students everywhere, Thanksgiving is a time to relax and not really worry about homework (well, depending on what major you're in).
