As another semester comes to end, college has proved itself to be more stressful than usual. With midterms, essays, projects and finals all coming up, life can be pretty stressful. I would be lying if I said that I hadn't started skipping a few of my morning classes, and yet still, I end up falling asleep in almost every one of my afternoon lectures.

I am a lucky girl though because I have found my one true love. My love gives me all the support and care that I need and is always there for me when I need it most. So what is this mystery man's name? His name is coffee.

You might be thinking, what exactly makes coffee so great? Well, let me tell ya.

1. It puts a smile on my face every morning

See that gorgeous Danny Zuko smile? That's me after I've had my morning coffee. I couldn't imagine a better start to my day than a piping hot cup of joe.

2. It tastes delicious in all makes

One of the things I love most about coffee is all the options for creativity! From café miels to iced mochas and java chip frappucinos, the variety of choices at coffee shops is practically endless. Not to mention that each and every one of these magical coffee-based potions is absolutely delicious. Maybe not healthy...but tasty for sure!

3. It is my biggest motivator

It helps you focus on anything you set your mind to. Whether it be your biology exam that's tomorrow that you just started cramming for, or planning your future goals, coffee is determined to help you make your dreams come true.

4. Honestly, I'm just not me without my coffee

Without coffee, I am a sad, lonely, grumpy mess that most people probably don't want to be around. Even I don't want to be around myself when I haven't had my coffee yet. A day without coffee is like a day spent with the world turned upside down.

5. It's the only way I maintain my sanity when it comes to mean girls (& also boys, professors, bouncers, and all humans really)

If it wasn't for my coffee, there are so many things that I would do or say and later regret. Thankfully, my morning cup is always there to keep me sane when evil thoughts pop into my head, such as throwing my pencil at the heads of the girls sitting in front of me in physics that won't stop chattering and smacking their gum.

6. There's no other arm candy that makes me look cooler

"Daaaaaaaamn girl! That's one hot - "

Steamin' cup of good lookin' coffee & cream, am I right??

I mean, honestly, do you even look like a real college kid without an XL to-go coffee in your hands as you sprint to class? I don't think so. Not a cool college kid at least, am I right?

7. It gives a buzz like no other

Feeling down? Or sleepy? Just can't keep your eyes open? Well, you know what fixes that? Coffee! Instantly, you'll feel your body fuel up with an electrifying kind of energy that suddenly makes your whole day better. Better than you thought it could ever get. And you want to know a little secret to the recipe? More espresso = more happiness.

(Just beware of caffeine overdoses!!)

8. Coffee has never failed me, therefore I am forever loyal (lord pray for my wallet)

You know why I really love coffee so much? Because it loves me for who I am and is always there for me. Coffee is never late, coffee never misses a date, and coffee never hurts my feelings. I have so much to thank coffee for, whether it be helping me pass my tests that stayed up late to study for, or making my heart just a little bit warmer every morning. Coffee is my one true love forever and I can say without shame that I am "hopelessly devoted to you", my sweet darling double-shot latte.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
