At some point every holiday season, I watch the Christmas classic 'Elf'. It's truly one of my favorite seasonal movies, but each year I relate it back to traditions my family has. Specific parts of that movie that I watch and I'm like yeah, I feel that.

1. How busy the preparation for Christmas actually is

Between trying to find the perfect present, making all the plans for dinner, decorating, and trying not to lose your mind, schedules get really hectic.

2. All the desserts and food that is brought out during the Christmas season

Like seriously how can anyone turn down all that chocolate or peppermint bark? Or candy, and pies, and cakes. Literally, do not get me started.

3. At some point or another, you piss someone off

Christmas is super stressful for a lot of people, and sometimes you all seem to be a little on edge. Like in my family, I am completely banned from being around my mom when she's wrapping presents. She wants every single gift to be a surprise, so it's in my best interest not to invade her space. Or anyone's space for that matter.

4. Decorating for Christmas is no joke

In my family, we take finding the right tree very seriously. Then comes making sure the lights on the house are perfect, and all the snowman snowglobes are perfectly displayed. It gets real.

5. Every time Christmas music comes on: instant dance party

You can't even help it, it's so festive and fun, you literally have to dance, and get everyone else involved too.

6. Every older man in red with a white beard is Santa. I'm sorry, it's true.

You don't even think twice, he looks like Santa, so it has to be him. Right?

7. When you open the one gift you've wanted for so long

It's the most exciting feeling when you rip open the wrapping paper and see the one present you were not only hoping for but have wanted for so long. You have to scream and jump at least a little bit.

8. Everyone seems to show their love and appreciation of each other just a little more on Christmas

It might be the holiday spirit, or maybe just a little too much Egg Nog, but for some reason, love is really in the air, and you want to tell everyone just how much you care.

9. That feeling when you successfully made it through the Christmas season and New Years is on its way

The build up to Christmas takes all year and can cause a serious mix of emotions. So making it through with little to no mental breakdowns is always a serious victory. You're sad that it's over, but also seriously proud you made it through. Only 365 more days until the next one!

All in all, I think everyone can relate to these on an emotional level. 'Elf' is a comedic holiday classic, but has some serious truth behind it all.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
