Why I Refuse To Remove The Name Of Jesus From My Articles

I was told to remove the name of Jesus from my writing but I refuse.

Why I Refuse To Remove The Name Of Jesus From My Articles
Dark Beauty Magazine

A couple of months ago, I had a reader comment that they enjoyed my article...until I mentioned the name of Jesus. At first, I was shocked that someone actually had the audacity to make such a comment. You see, although I definitely love it when my readers enjoy my articles, I don't write to please others. I write for myself, with the hope that maybe I can help someone along the way.

I'm a firm believer in meaning what you say and saying what you mean. So, after contemplating this comment for several weeks, I feel compelled to write this. I must stand firm in the faith. I must say what I mean.

So, here it is: I will not, under any circumstances, remove the name of Jesus from my articles. I will not keep silent about my belief in Jesus Christ just to satisfy those of the world. You see, you can not preach open-mindedness and then get upset when someone presents an idea that is not our own. That isn't how it works.

If I were writing to gain popularity, I surely wouldn't write things based on the Bible. I wouldn't confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I would surely get more reads and shares if I spewed anti-Christianity messages. However, my main goal is not to gain the approval of people; my main goal is to gain the approval of God. My main goal is to make Heaven my home after my body passes away.

You see, friends, this world is temporary. One day, it will all pass away. But the words of Jesus will never pass away. His Word will endure forever. I am not living for the temporary approval of this world. I will confess that Jesus saved me. He has rescued me time and time again. He has made my paths straight. He has provided for me. I will not stop singing His praises. I will not stop saying how good God is.

I am reminded of when Jesus told Levi (Matthew) to give away all of his possessions and to follow Him. Levi recognized his need for Jesus and heeded to the voice of Jesus. Levi left everything behind and followed Jesus.

My sweet friends, I know this world can paint a pretty picture of all it has to offer. The things of the world will ultimately lead to your destruction. Levi was sold out to God, and we must be, too. Let us hold fast to the faith and run the race that is set before us. Let us never be ashamed of the name of Jesus.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth..." Romans 1:16

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
