Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. — Proverbs 20:1 KJV

Bible Verse Reflection

Instead of spending millions on advertisements that are brimming with flashing lighting, sexy blondes, speedy cars, and attractive young men like the industry of alcohol does, God plainly states the fact that we are not wise to be enslaved to any thing that makes us appear foolish, which corrodes our passions, and make us vulnerable to temptation.

If your drinking experience has led you to one of these, you should get help from a mature Christian partner who can help you achieve liberation. If you’re not currently bound to these substances, you you should keep those hurt by drug and alcohol abuse in your prayers and fellowship.

My Prayer

Dear Lord, bless those scared by an addiction-related loved one’s grip. Give them the courage to seek help and not stay in silence and solitary. Please awaken their loved one to the realities of their harmful life style. Prepare the people who can assist them on the path to health, recovery, and the freedom you desire to provide them with.

Use us, Your church, as the place of healing and hope for those who have fallen into this devastating trap. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
