It's officially "get out the kitchen" season, at least for me.
Is my mom the only one who asks for my help cooking, but ends up getting frustrated with me because I'm in the way more than anything?
Eh, I hope not. I swear my mom loves me.
I don't take it to heart, I mainly just laugh. It's funny because the holiday season can bring out anyone's frustrated side.
I mean, if you are helping your Grandma cook for Thanksgiving, you better be on your A game.
I say that because you know how serious they are about their cooking, and that's a bad side I definitely don't want to be on.
I'm totally kidding, but for real study the recipes up and down before you go help Grandma. HAHA
Now, if you know that you are not meant for the kitchen, like myself, then I have made a list of other things you can do to help out.
1. Go get the groceries
It is the one thing that is most dreaded, so this will definitely get you extra brownie points!
2. Unload the groceries
Make your mama, grandmama, or whoever's hardheaded self, sit down and relax while you unload and organize the groceries.
3. Get out the mixing bowls & dishes
Save them from straining themselves and grab those pans, youngin!
4. Wash the dishes
It is very likely that the dirty bowls placed in the sink will need to be used again, so stay ahead of the game.
5. Fix them a drink
Whether it's wine, beer, sweet tea, or apple cider, you will be a lifesaver.
6. Go grab some food
I mean, fixing all these yummy meals has to make them hungry. Treat them to their favorite carry out, on you!
7. Clean the house
Clean house, happy person.
8. Finally, set the table
Before doing so, make sure you know the correct, etiquette, way to do so. I wanted to throw that out there to save you from an hour-long lesson on how to set a table.
By now, you should have made your way to the top of the favorite child/grandchild list.
Just kidding, they would never admit to that.
They will, however, be extra grateful for all of your help.
Thanksgiving is a memorable holiday and it should be made less exhausting.
By helping out in anyway that you can, it will help reduce Thanksgiving stress.
Be an angel this holiday, and even beyond holidays.
