Election day is approaching, which means one thing, my fellow American's: get your passports ready. I don't want to say we are screwed with whoever gets elected but... We are screwed. You're either a republican, redneck, upper-class gun-supporter who doesn't know much about politics or an annoyingly super feminist, democrat and you believe that the email leaks were an "accident" type of person. Both candidates should stick to their day job and not try to run this country, but since one will soon be moving into the White House, here are the next steps we should take.
1. Get a passport
Canada, here we come! Let's face it, the future of America is now one big giant wild card. It's better to be safe than sorry.
2. Doing last minute research on each candidate.
Sure, since the debates were so informative and professional all our questions were probably answered, but just in case seeing Trump and Clinton bicker like two divorced parents wasn't enough, it's probably a good idea to do some research on your own.
3. Drink.
Drinking is never the answer, but it can solve a temporary fix of emotions that our nation is going downhill fast.
4. Cry.
For many college students, this is the first election we can vote in. We are basically picking our poison for the next four years.
5. Remember impeachment is a thing.
There is light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Though it's unlikely, we must remember there's a chance that our next president can be impeached.
6. Smile through the pain.
At this point, there is nothing we can do. We chose these people, and now we must live with the consequences no matter how much it hurts.
There you have it: the next steps one should take in order to get through the 2016 election. Happy voting! I'll see you all in Canada.
