Turning my back on the dark night
I'm done waiting for the sun to shine on us.
Believing in something that was never promised
Trusting who's never proved himself worthy of such.
A piece, a part, a fragment of time, gone.
An emptiness fills the rooms of the heart
Where false hope, fabricated love and
Selfish longing used to linger,
Now a peaceful silence deafening the ears.
Eyes downcast, shadows of the past looming,
Self-esteem beneath the ground
Used, damaged, unwanted goods
You stole my heart, my hope,
You ran away with my love.
Now my back to the dark night,
Facing where the sun will soon rise.
Like so many other goodbyes,
This one colder, more heartless--
Knowing that this is a step into the mysteries of Future.
