The long, thin strands of grass tickled her nose as she patiently waited for her prey to sit and settle down in front of her. The ground was hard from the several month long drought, but a light misting had fallen earlier, leading her to feel as though she was resting on a dry sponge with a few droplets of water to dampen it, luckily the suit was waterproof and she remained comfortably dry. She took a deep breath to prepare for the shot, but quickly recalled the words of the commanding officer, however, too late. Dizzy and lightheaded, nausea flooded over her. The air of this planet could not be taken in large amounts, only slow shallow ones, if clean air was needed, the code had to be entered into her arm and her body would produce the necessary elements. The program was not perfect though, causing a great deal of exhaustion ten hours after the process completed.
Despite her urge to drink water and breathe deeper to ease the discomfort, the results would make her the prey, compromising the mission and the experiments. Little was known about the species she currently followed, the only experience that could be used to hunt the creatures was the 14 years she had hunted at her home. This made her the least experienced of her group and she lied on the paperwork to qualify to join, though…that wasn’t the only part she lied about…I can’t say that though, she’ll be sent to the full…I wish you would say something… OUCH!.. Fine, fine, I’ll continue.
That was when she passed out and her monitor went off, though no noise sounded, the creature became aware of her presence. The station was five minutes away, but her predator was one, the camera didn’t seem to pick up what happened next, the noises came through, but that was all… I’d say they were more like labored breathing than anything, then shuffling for a while, the sound of a vehicle, and finally, silence.
Yes, that is all I know, AGH, stop! I told you everything!--------------------------------------------
