The Try Guys

The Try Guys is a group of four crazy guys, making crazy content, and they're worth watching. They were a part of Buzzfeed before but then quit and then made their own company. To be very honest, it was worth it, after binge-watching almost every video when I first heard about them. The guys in the group are Eugene Y., Keith H., Ned F., and Zach C. Disclaimer, they are inappropriate in most of their videos so if you can't handle that, unfortunately, don't watch them, unless you're willing to take the risk. Otherwise, thank me later :) and follow them on Instagram (same name).

Lance-A-Lot-Vlogs

Lance just started his YouTube Channel this year and his content is what every K-Pop fan is like. He is a freshman in Hunter College, and he's such a loving friend. If you're a BLINK (BlackPink fan), go straight to him. I swear, he'll make your day a great day no matter what. (Instagram: @lancee.ee)

chiibissi

This YouTube channel is operated by my good friend Aasta and she's a Yalow Hunter College freshman. Her content consists of your typical relaxing, aesthetically pleasing videos. I have watched her videos and sometimes have them on as background music whenever I do my schoolwork. If you follow her Instagram (same name), she also does bujo (bullet journalling) and 100% beautiful.

Brad Mondo

Let me tell you, hands down, I love him and his content. He is a hairdresser in NYC and he reacts to hair related videos, gives advice and tips, and tests out "tricks" from social media. For me who took cosmetology all of high school, I can relate to everything in his videos, and sometimes they're funny moments. In his reaction videos, he doesn't get too overdramatic and is a nice human being even when the person messed up their hair or whatever happened in the video. Follow him on Instagram (same name) and you'll thank me later for watching his videos.

LenaLifts

Once again, another YouTuber I love hands down. Lena is a junior in NYU and the first video I watched of her was when she was moving in to her dorm in 2019, when she was a sophomore. After watching some more videos, I fell in love with her content and her vibe. She is also a fitness guru, breaking the Asian body stereotype, and I'm all here for it. Lena is that YouTuber who will actually reply to her comments on both YouTube and Instagram (@lena.yeo).

Paolo from TOKYO

Paolo lives in Japan (not sure where exactly) and he mainly does "A Day in a Life" videos with different Japanese people with different jobs. After watching them, I realized the difference in lifestyles in Japan compared to the US. Other than those videos, he does videos on different food and how some things work in Japan. To be very honest, if I lived in Japan, my life would be completely different.

Nicole Laeno

Nicole is a dancer living in California and she's a high school freshman. Her videos are really fun to watch and her family is so funny. She's always so positive and responsible every day, unlike me who was a mess in high school. Nicole does vlogs, what she *insert action*, dance and workout routines, and etc. Definitely check her out! (Instagram is the same name)

studyquill

Her name is Jasmine and she is a UCLA freshman, living in California. Her content consists of bujo, "study" with her, advice for school/work/life, weekly vlogs, and etc. Jasmine's videos are so aesthetically pleasing, just hearing her voice in the background keeps me calm and focused on my work. Check out her Instagram too! (same name)

I hope you found some or all of these YouTubers interesting to watch. I do have more recommendations if you're curious. Have a great day/night!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
