The Theory of Everything: Based on the story of physicist Stephen Hawking and his journey with his diagnosis of ALS. Eddie Redmayne beautifully portrays Hawking's story as a true example that there are no limitations to what you can do in life.
The Imitation Game: Based during World War II, this movie follows mathematician Alan Turing and his team as they work rigorously to crack the German enigma code for the British government. This movie is historically captivating and is beautifully portrayed by an incredible cast; including, Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley.
The Danish Girl: Inspired by the true events, The Danish Girl tells the story of Danish painters, Greda and Einar Wegener, and their turbulent lives after Einar discovers his affinity for feminine attire. Ultimately, Einar with Greda's support, becomes the first man to undergo a sex-change operation in 1931. Another incredible performance by Eddie Redmayne in this heart-wrenching film.
The King's Speech: Featuring Colin Firth as King George VI, this movie follows the king as he tirelessly works with a therapist to overcome his speech impediment for the live radio broadcast to the English people during World War II. The King's Speech is truly an inspiring film.
It is important to note that the real-life people portrayed in these films have faced seemingly impossible struggles that set them apart from society, but through perseverance and support they were able to find strength within themselves and continue to be an inspiration to others today.
