Back when I was a freshman, I started to get tired of my meal options that were around campus. Of course, I never had the best resources to cook meals in my dorm, but many colleges do offer accessible kitchens for students to use. Locate yours if you're an on-campus student, or use the kitchen of your own house/apartment. Either way, gather some ingredients and try out these three easy recipes that are not only super easy to make but fast to prepare as well.
1. Spaghetti and Meatballs
This is an absolute classic. Not only are there just three ingredients, but they are all available in a simple, one-step option. Such as, for the meatballs, you can get frozen ones at any grocery store. If you're like me though, you prefer them fresh. I roll up balls of ground beef and toss them on the stove. However, I like to use sauce from the jar rather than making it from scratch. Once the noodles are boiled and the sauce and meatballs are cooked, mix it all together and maybe even throw on some parmesan cheese and seasonings.
2. Chicken Tender Wraps
Honestly, the chicken is the only thing in this recipe that needs cooking. Purchase breaded chicken patties or raw chicken, along with breading, flour and eggs. However, you like to eat your chicken, prepare the patty and fry it until it gets to a good crisp. Chop lettuce while that's cooking, and after chopping the chicken as well, put it into a tortilla wrap with some shredded cheese and some ranch. This is basically a homemade version of Snack Wraps at McDonald's.
3. Chicken Noodle Soup
Out of the other recipes, this takes me longer, but not nearly as long as people usually put into cooking. I get chicken broth from the grocery store, and along with that, I get noodles, celery, and baby carrots. On one part of the stove, I'm heating up the broth. On the other size, I am boiling the noodles. While those prepare, I chop up my vegetables into tiny, bite-sized pieces. After that's all done, I combine all of the ingredients on low heat, while seasoning it to perfection.
