It Is Finished

Jesus finished every struggle when he died on the cross.

It Is Finished

We all struggle with things that are going on in our lives. It could be something that some people find odd that you would be struggling with or it could be a major issue. Either way, it is a struggle that is hard to handle. It can very well just consume us and over take our lives. We need someone who will take this burden from us and help us get through the hard times.

As I sit and think about struggling, it is so apparent in my life right now. I cannot seem to understand if I have made the right decision in leaving everything that I have ever known to go to a new town. This may seem weird, but it is my current struggle that I am dealing with almost every day. About a week ago though, I was reminded about a how there is a powerful God who is always there for me. I was having a decision with a group of girls at church, and one was telling us a story. She had been struggling with something for a long time. After some help from others, she felt that God had taken that struggle and had written “It is Finished” instead.

This hit me hard because I now realized something that I had known but never really thought about. God wants to help us, and He has. When He sent His only son down to Earth to die a brutal death on a cross, He made a way for us to not have to worry about anything because “It is Finished.” Jesus finished every bad thing and struggle on the cross when he died to save us from our sins. Satan was defeated and he has no hold on our lives anymore. All we need to do is take our pain, our struggle, our guilt, our sin to the cross and lay it at the feet of Jesus because he and God will take care of us and help us when we are hurting because they love us so much. Just remember that “It is Finished.”

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
