Reasons You Should Buy A Passion Planner

If you're an organization freak and depend on a daily planner to keep your sanity, it may be worth it to spend a little more money to buy a Passion Planner. I came across Passion Planners via social media, and the nerd in me got so excited that I bought one immediately! This planner is so much more than just a daily calendar and keeping track of your appointments, classes, personal life, etc. It does way way WAY more than just that.

1. General benefits

The Passion Planner in general helps with a variety of things: you can customize it however you want, you can create a keepsake, manage your time, see the big picture, follow passions, get focused, do you, declutter, and challenge yourself.

2. Passion Roadmap

In the beginning of the planner, you're instructed on how to make your very own Passion Roadmap:

1. Make a wishlist - Set a timer for 5 minutes. For the next five minutes, imagine that this piece of paper is magical; whatever you write in it will come true within the designated time frame. Think of it as a wish list describing your ideal life. Ask yourself: "If I could have anything, be anything, or do anything, what would it be?"

2. Prioritize - Time's up! Now set the timer for 1 minute. Go back and for each of the sections, circle one goal that would have the MOST positive impact on your life.

3. Create your first Passion Plan

4. Add specifics - assign due dates for each of these tasks by estimating the amount of time needed to complete them. Be specific and be sure to indicate how much, how many, or by when.

5. Create a timeline

6. Make a date

7. Work at it!

8. Repeat!

I think that the Passion Roadmap is a great way to hold yourself accountable for goals that you'd like to reach (short- or long-term)!

3. Weekly Layout

The weekly layout is extremely in depth! There is a lot of blank space at the bottom of the pages if you need to scribble notes, phone numbers, doodle, anything you want! One thing that I love for my weekly layouts is that there's always a small challenge for me to work towards. For example: "This week, whether it may be big or small, challenge yourself to face one of your fears. Once you have conquered that fear, you may realize that most of the bad things you once worried about were not as bad as you imagined." The challenges encourage me to think about what I could do better this week! It's a great little motivator.

4. Monthly Layout

In the monthly layout, you get a full-blown calendar for each month of the year. Along with that, you get to personalize it even more by adding the month's focus, people to see, places to go, projects, etc.

5. Monthly Reflection

The monthly reflection has to be one of my top favorite things about the Passion Planners. In the monthly reflection, you can reflect on memorable parts, lessons learned, assess priorities, how to improve, evaluate yourself, who you're grateful for, etc. If you actually take the time to reflect on your month and how things went, it's great to just take a few minutes to wind down and just let your mind go. I do these reflections every month, and it's a great tool to look back and then look forward to see how I can improve or what I need to work on!

6. Different sizes and colors to fit your needs

There are so many different kinds of Passion Planners: Academic planners, Dated planners, Undated planners, etc. There are many options that can fit your specific needs!

There are also two different size options in the planners! Classic and Compact:

Along with the two different sizes, there are many different designs and colors to choose from!

7. Get one, Give one

Another aspect of Passion Planners that I really enjoy is the Get One, Give One program:

When I received my Passion Planner in the mail, I was extremely confused because I had received two in two different sizes. I didn't order two! But come to find out, they gave me another one for FREE to give to someone else. How amazing is that?

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
