Thanksgiving break is just around the corner, and with that comes the notorious FSU vs. UF rivalry game. Us Noles wait all year for this game, because its our chance to show them Gators just how big we do it here in Tally, and it's glorious. Individuals wearing the forbidden color combination that is blue and orange, flock to North Florida for the game of the year, and quickly come to the realization that they ain't in Gainesville anymore. They're now in the land of champions, and I'm not just talking about our football team. Win or lose, Florida State has never lost a tailgate. The only problem with this setup is when the game is at UF. The real question is, why would anyone in their right mind actually go to the home of our sworn enemies when we already have it all right here in Tallahassee? The answer is, you don't.

Here are all the reasons you need to not attend the Florida State at University of Florida game.

1. You can stay home for an extra day of break instead and watch the game from the comfort of your own couch.

2. You can go back to Tally a day early and attend a viewing part with your fellow Noles.

3. It's UF.

4. The weather is humid, muggy, oppressive and any other synonym that could be used to describe the swamp that is Gainesville.

Pretty much, it's gross and we're all probably better off avoiding this place at all costs.

5. Their color combination clashes and it's just not fair to the world.

6. You will be surrounded by the worst breed of human there is: Gator fans.

7. Not to mention, these Gator fans will definitely try to start a fight with you, probably do their stupid chomp right in your face, and talk all types of crap when, in reality, they'll never have the same pride for their team like we have for our Noles.

8. Their biggest, craziest weekend is equivalent to our away game viewing parties.

9. Their nightlife doesn't even compare to Tallahassee's.

Actually their nightlife is almost nonexistent. So, once the game is over you'll either end up back at one of the trashed fraternities, or at a house party that will make you feel like you're back in high school.

10. There really isn't much to do in Gainesville at all.

Other than a sad excuse for tailgates, a few house parties, and some decent places to eat, there's pretty much nothing but swamp.

If you do happen to attend the FSU @ UF game, at least you will come back with even more love for Florida State then you had before. You will gain a better understanding of just how amazing our sports are, just how beautiful our campus is, and just how big we do everything here in Tallahassee.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
