15 Reasons Why You Should Go to a Concert ASAP

If you're a fan of going to concerts, you'll understand why people who have never been to one should go.

It's concert season, which means a whole lot of music and a whole lot of fun. No matter your age, concerts never get old, whether this is the first time you are seeing the band or the twentieth. Here are some of the best reasons to go to a concert.

1. You are hearing your favorite bands LIVE!

It's not listening to them on your iPod or watching their music videos. They are right in front of you. There is nothing better than hearing a band live.

2. There is no better adrenaline rush than when the act appears on the stage for the first time.

The countdown stops. The lights shut off. The crowd starts to scream. And some of your favorite people walk on stage. It's an overwhelming feeling of love and excitement.

3. Awesome band tees.

The $35 T-shirt is so worth it. Wear it to bed, the next week of school. It's your new baby.

4. You meet awesome people who share the same love for the artist as you do.

You don't realize how much love people have for bands until you meet them. You have something in common with the people you are seated next to. Make conversation. Ask them who their favorite is or what their favorite song is. You can build a friendship just through some simple questions.

5. Your inner fangirl comes out.

High pitched screams, "I LOVE YOU" posters (as long as they aren't blocking anyone), and every which way you freak the freak out is acceptable at a concert.

6. Sometimes you are lucky enough to meet the band.

To meet the people behind the music that has helped you through the good, the bad and the ugly has to be one of the best feelings in the world. Whether it's a meet and greet or standing behind the venue where artists enter, it's definitely worth a try.

7. You discover new music.

Between the opening acts and brand new music by the artist, you'll find new favorite songs that will be on repeat for weeks after the concert.

8. You get to show off your sick dance moves.

Don't be afraid to bust a move!

9. The artist interacts with you making you feel like the coolest person in the arena.

Whether they make eye contact with you or grab your hand, the artist knows how to make you and the crowd feel important.

10. It's the best workout.

You know you've been to a good concert if you wake up the next morning hardly able to walk.

11. It is one giant jam session with your favorite band.

Where else is it acceptable to scream your heart out to your favorite songs without getting a noise complaint?

12. How beautiful is this?

Moments like these are some of my favorites. When the artist starts singing a slow song, flashlights go on and wave around creating a beautiful atmosphere leaving you in awe.

13. You have amazing stories to share.

As much as the night will be a giant blur, you'll remember the little things that happen throughout the night. Maybe it's a silly dance move or they play your favorite song, those will be the things you remember the most.

14. It's a judge-free zone.

Everyone is there for the same reason as you. Concerts bring everyone together for the passion and enjoyment of music.

15. The memories you make are unforgettable.

Post-concert depression is real. Make the most of those few hours where every worry in the world disappears. Dance the night away. Sing your heart out. Make new friends. You'll want to go back to that night the very next day and every day after.

Go to a concert. You will never experience something so great in your life.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
