Reasons Why The African American Population Must Vote In November
Town of Chelmsford

As the voting for the next President of the United States quickly approaches it is becoming more and more inevitable that the next President of the United States will depend heavily upon who wins the minority vote. This election is extremely important the post Obama years will be key to making consistent progress in the country. The United States throughout the years has become the land of opportunity. With this phase of opportunity has led to the United States of America becoming the most diverse nation on Earth. It is of importance that African Americans and minority don’t stay at home in November during the long voting days. Every vote will count to deciding between Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump, or Democratic Presidential Nominee Hillary Clinton.

The outspoken Donald Trump has said that he wants to get African Americans back to work sooner and with higher wages, but has yet to say how he plans to make this happen. Trump steadily believes in a conservative viewing that will not raise the minimum wage, but he has said that he would be willing to negotiate a deal to do so. As for other minorities Trump and tough on building a border or a great wall to stop illegal immigrants from coming into the United States. That he has stated multiple times that he intends on making Mexico pay for.

Hillary Clinton on the other hand has a track record of being a part of the progressive movement and standing up for the equality of other people around the globe. Her wiliness to not give in has led to her being put in this situation at the forefront of the nation and doing something that has never been done before. She smoothly guided herself to become the first women to win a primary political party ever. Her prominent background speaks for itself even in bad times in distress. She wants to better criminal justice reform which over the past few weeks has failed African Americans to its core. The level of police brutality toward African Americans has been through the roof and the repercussions toward Officers has been dull toward the policy to make them police better and not use racial profiling.

For the African American community the race could not be any more important President Obama has given us two terms for a total of eight years of intellectual curiosity of what being a successful President at the highest level and being an African American male of achievement looks like. He has expanded the growth of what it truly means to be black in America and it will be hard for his successor to pick up where he is leaving off and it will be worse if the African American population does not show up in November leaving the door open to someone that could possibly shake up Washington and make it progressively harder and what it is to be an minority and America we must make an statement in November because an “Nation divide cannot and will not stand.”

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
