Reasons Why I Love Anthony Rizzo and You Should Too

It's like talking about Prince Charming in a movie, or that boy in 8th grade that makes your cheeks flush a deep shade of red that is borderline purple. It's also comparable to having that goal character in someone you strive to be as you grow. Anthony Rizzo, #44 on the World Series champion team the Chicago Cubs, is as dreamy as it gets in the baseball world. Some could argue his partner in crime, Kris Bryant is a close competitor.

Either way, whether you are a Bryant, Rizzo or as thousands of Cub's fans know it as "Bryzzo" follower, my heart is set on Rizzo for more reasons than this article could fit in itself before losing interest from the public as I try to convince them to love him just as much.

I can promise you, if you read to the end you will find my super fan crave over #44 goes beyond what only the eyes see at first glance.

1. It takes one inning of a Cub's game to watch Rizzo step up to the plate and prepare for yet another successful hit.

No baseball player preps a swing like Rizzo. His hip thrusts sends the ladies cheering for the red and blue (look it up, you'll understand in a matter of seconds).

2. The jawline and the smile alone.

I can't get enough of his contagious smile that really does send my head on a tailspin. I am also completely aware that I sound like an 11 year old gawking over Zac Efron.

3. The fact that I have a signed picture with him saying, "Rene - Will you marry me? - Anthony Rizzo"

Think thats fake? Take a second out of your day and YouTube search "Kid asks Anthony Rizzo to Marry His Sister". That my friends, is my little brother. With only 1 question allowed for each kid to ask players on a panel, he chose the one question that would make his sisters world keep turning (proud sister moment).

(P.S. Rizzo, if you're ever reading this, my name is spelled "R-E-N-E-E", not "R-E-N-E," but trust me I am not phased by this at all. If I were you I would have much more important things to be concerned with.)

4. Last but most importantly, his humble mindset.

With a full life Anthony Rizzo has endured in his 27 years, he has fought and won the fight of childhood cancer, passed on his story and strength to other children and families fighting the same battle, and used his talent and fame in baseball to benefit others in ways they would not have without him.

It doesn't take much to convince me over and over again of the hundreds of reasons I can come up with to love #44, and admit it, you're convinced too.

Cheers to Anthony Rizzo, his contagious smile, and the Chicago Cubs for their well deserved 2016 World Series Champion title.

Until we meet again Rizzo, I'll be seeing you from the stands of Wrigley coming summer 2017. One last thing, I apologize for being that crazy fan in the future Mrs. Rizzo shirt running down Clark as you drove by. Actually, I'm not sorry.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
