25 Reasons Why Guys Are Glad They Aren't Us

Being a girl is difficult for many reasons. Setting aside all the emotional and obvious, physical differences, there are many reasons boys say they are very happy to be boys. If you’re a female, I’m sure you’ve heard the phrases, “Wow, I’m glad I’m not a girl,” or “Damn, it would suck to be a chick,” or my personal favorite, “Thank God I have a penis.” I’ll admit there are have been some moments I’ve wished I didn’t have to sit down to pee all the time or actually to watch what I eat when I’m trying to stay in shape, but it's not that bad being a girl, even if I do have to spend a $1,000 every time I walk in Sephora.

Even though my dad might call me his son, and introduce me as, “Dick Knowlton,” I will never be a boy, or know what it’s like to be a boy. So since I am a girl, and my name is not Dick Knowlton, I decided to ask some members of the opposite gender why it would “suck to be a chick,” so much.

So ladies, let’s take a quick look at some of the reasons guys are thankful not to be us.

1. They don't have to put on makeup.

2. Pregnancy.

3. Take birth control.

4. Remember to take their birth control.

5. Spend so much money on cosmetics.

6. It’s easier to pee.

7. Wear a bra.

8. It only takes 15 minutes to get ready.

9. Periods.

10. It’s OK to sleep around.

11. And have one-night stands.

12. Don’t have to shave their legs.

13. It’s easier to pick out clothes.

14. Don’t get weird cravings.

15. Buy tampons.

16. Use tampons.

17. Ask a stranger for tampons.

18. Sneak tampons in your hand to the bathroom.

19. Can eat as much as they want without judgment.

20. No slut shaming.

21. Thongs.

22. No friend drama.

23. Don’t have to squat to pee on a public toilet.

24. Spend $1,000 on hair color.

25. It all just sucks.

It’s expensive to be a girl, and time-consuming and annoying. I actually have to brush my hair and care about what I wear, or if my clothes are even clean. People can actually tell that I’m doing the walk of shame because it’s 8 a.m. and I’m wearing boxers and wedges. I know my life is hard and I have to work 12 jobs to buy makeup and game day outfits. But you have to buy me drinks.
