I'm just going to come out and say it: fall is the supreme season out of all of the seasons. Growing up in New England, fall was always my favorite time of year and not just because I have a fall birthday. There are multiple reasons why fall is the most amazing season of them all and here are my top 10 of those reasons...

1.) Foliage

There is simply nothing prettier than when the leaves change colors. As much as I love my school in the South now, I severely miss being able to constantly look at and drive through the beautiful foliage up in New England.

2.) Fashion

Scarves, boots, jeans, long sleeves, sweaters, cardigans--need I go on? Fall fashion is some of the comfiest, coziest, and not to mention cutest clothes you will ever be able to wear (yet another thing I miss while in Florida for school).

3.) Fall Smells

The smells of fall are unlike anything other. Pumpkins, apples, spices, cloves, pine, crisp air... it's some of the most comforting smells you will ever grace your nose with. I mean, really, have you ever smelled Flannel by Bath & Body Works? It smells like a warm man hugging you. When you find a smell more comforting than that, let me know.

4.) Apple Picking

Apple picking is easily one of my favorite pastimes of growing up in the North. It was always a family affair and there is nothing better than scouting for that perfect apple--and of course getting to pick one right off the tree and eat it as you continue picking! (Speaking of, my family went apple picking this weekend and I am still jealous I couldn't be there).

5.) Cider Donuts

If you have never had a cider donut, then you are severely deprived. Cider donuts are a special crown jewel in addition to all the other traditional and wonderful food that comes out around fall--the amazingness of them is simply indescribable.

6.) Bonfires

There is nothing better than getting with your friends and family and sitting around a bonfire, roasting marshmallows, and maybe singing a cheesy song or sharing a crazy story or two.

7.) Fairs

Easily one of the best parts of fall? FAIR SEASON, FAM. Fair food, rides, horse shows, 4-H... the list goes on and on. (Once again, I am missing my favorite fair back home due to school, and I'm not sure how I'm going to recover from such a tragedy).

8.) Perfect Weather

The weather in fall is some of the best because it's not too hot and not too cold, all you need is a light jacket--kind of like April 25th, if you catch my drift. It's perfect for hanging out outside and jumping in the leaves (you've got the right idea, Linus).

9.) Beginning of Holiday Season

Fall marks the beginning of holiday season--first comes Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas... it truly is the most wonderful time of the year! (Also, it's actually only 13 Fridays til Christmas. CAN I GET AN AMEN)

10.) Fresh Television

And last but most certainly not least, fall marks the beginning of new seasons of television. What could be better than curling up with a blanket and a warm beverage after a long day and watching new episodes of your favorite shows?

Fall is the best season, hands down. And if you don't believe me after these 10 amazing reasons, I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
