4 Reasons Why Wegmans Is The Best Grocery Store

Everyone living in the northeastern United States has most likely been to, or heard of, Wegmans. Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. began in Rochester, NY and has been known for being America's best grocery store for years. Most people who have not been to Wegmans are probably wondering what makes this supermarket stand out from the rest, so let me explain.

1. The size of the actual store is huge, and so is the selection of groceries they offer.

This supermarket stands out from the rest for many reasons, but the most obvious one is because of it's size. Wegmans offers a market place section of ready-to-go food, a Kid's Center for parents to drop-off their kids while they shop, an entire section dedicated to anything organic, aisles upon aisles of international food options, and so many more. I mean come on, they have a whole section just for cheese. Literally, any kind of cheese to every exist...Wegmans has it.

2. Their customer service is one of the best, and they know it.

I once was walking through the aisles, doing you average grocery shopping, when a Wegmans manager was walking through opening up a package of the new Red Velvet Oreos. He opened them, and then walked through each aisle offering everyone a cookie. Not many people are aware of this, but if there is any item that you would like to buy and are not sure if you will enjoy it, Wegmans' employees have permission to open it up and let you try it. So if you try it and don't like it, you won't spend the money on it.

Aside from letting you try whatever you want before you purchase it, they will also take something that is packaged and portion it for you. I wanted to buy feta cheese for my salads once, but knew that I would not use all of it before it went bad. So I took it to one of the employees working in the cheese department, they put it in a new contained and charged me by the scale. However, don't think that the rest of the food you did not buy will go to waste. Wegmans chefs used the Wegmans ingredients to make delicious dishes they sell pre-packaged or at their fresh food bar.

3. Not only do they bag your groceries, but they will pack them into your car as well.

Wegmans started a program called "Helping Hands" where the employees will meet you at the designated drive up area with your groceries and pack them neatly into your car. This is usually intended for people who are physically incapable to pack their own groceries due to old age, injuries, or anything that results in you being handicapped. However, it is offered to anyone who would like it.

4. They have a restaurant and bar... in the grocery store.

Wegmans opened it's first restaurant in one of their grocery stores in 2009. It's called The Pub, and has become the go-to place for great food and craft beer selections. So if you're going out for lunch or dinner with friends or family, but also need to go grocery shopping, you can do it all in one place.

There are so many more great things about this supermarket that could go on forever. So just keep in mind, if you're ever driving and see a Wegmans... it's worth it to stop in and check it out. Maybe grab a treat from their bakery, it's worth indulging with every calorie.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
