"Damien," an A&E TV series, came out in early March and it is already almost halfway through the first season. Out of boredom, I decided to record the season premiere and I was amazed by its plot movement and character development. I'm actually quite saddened that it's coming to a quick end, as the first season only has 10 episodes.
1. The executive producer of this show also was the executive producer of "The Walking Dead" and "The Shield."
This prompted me to give it a chance, as I'm a huge "Walking Dead" fan and I have also heard great things about "The Shield" (which I will get into once my various shows' current seasons come to an end).
2. Bradley James is the lead.
He also is in "iZombie" (another show that I will get to someday because it looks amazing).
3. It's creepy (in a good way).
If you're into the horror genre - one that's splashed with supernatural - you will enjoy this. "Damien" isn't too little or too much. It's like Baby Bear's porridge that was considered "just right" by Goldilocks' standards. Its emotions and the overbearing amount of excellent acting will lead to getting attached to characters within the first two episodes.
4. It involves religion. Religion always makes things interesting.
Religion always shows up in films for one of two reasons: to encourage spirituality or to creep you the heck out. Strangely, "Damien's" contrasting characters who are either secular or religious combine the two reasons.
5. It comes on right after "Bates Motel."
What a treat! It's a creepy show to follow after another creepy show! "Bates Motel" and "Damien" being on the same channel only proves that it was meant to be.
