7 Reasons I'm Looking Forward to Warm Weather at Villanova

Many tend to scoff at my unpopular opinion of my love for cold weather, and while this fondness hasn't gone away, I must admit that I am getting a little tired of the random snow storms and frequent nor'easters we have been having lately. I am slipping on the ice far too often than I'd enjoy, classes across campus have become a trek, and it's just been miserable.

I often have to remember a simpler time, one where the sun was shining and more people on campus were smiling. That simpler time? When the weather was above 65 degrees. And since we are reaching the beginning of April, I thought it would be nostalgic to reflect on what we can all look forward to at Villanova in only a couple more weeks.

1. Hanging out at the Oreo

Warm weather means basking in the sun around the Oreo between classes, which proves to be a nice break for many Villanova students like me who need time to destress!

2. Playing frisbee with friends at the Riley Ellipse

What could be a better way to get exercise and spend time with friends than hanging out and throwing around a frisbee by the Oreo?

3. Eating outside Dougherty or Conn

Nothing beats leaving the air-conditioned Pit and Cyber Lounge and soaking in some Vitamin D while doing so.

4. Having class outside

Out of the generosity of their hearts, hopefully, some of our professors will allow class outside, a perfect setting with all of the beauty Villanova and the weather will have to offer.

5. No longer being judged for having iced coffee from Holy Grounds when it's cold

In a few weeks, it will finally be "iced coffee" weather according to some, where drinking iced coffee is finally acceptable with the weather. Though definitely sad, my anticipation for this is certainly real.

6. More dogs on campus

Warm weather = more doggos on campus = more happiness on campus. Who can complain?

7. Wrapping up the school year

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
