A trip to Maine is a must do for any nature lover or northeast adventurer. There's beautiful shorelines, endless hikes, and plenty of great foods too. Here are ten reasons why you have to check out Maine for your next vacation.

1. The Coastline Is Perfect For Beach Lovers

My aunt takes me to Pemaquid every year. It’s the perfect beach. Plus, there is a lighthouse you can travel to a few miles up the road. I highly recommend.

2. Baseball Fans Can Watch The Portland Seadogs

The Portland Seadogs are a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Boston Red Sox. Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi both played for them before moving to the Boston Red Sox. Hadlock Field is the best park I’ve ever seen for minor league. Minor league games are just as fun as major league games.

3. Dew Haven Is The Cutest Zoo You'll Ever Go To

Dew Haven also known for Yankee Jungle on the animal planet. The rescue zoo is located in Mount Vernon, Maine. Fair warning - it is kind of pricey for a small zoo; however, it is totally worth every penny.

4. Red Barn Makes Food Exactly The Way It Should Be

Although Red Barn is a little pricey, it is worth it. Known for serving Maine seafood, the restaurant is a classic taste of Maine. I recommend the scallop and fries basket. Red Barn also serves other alternatives for people who don't like seafood.

5. Fielder's Choice Will Scoop You The Biggest Small Ice Cream Ever

Literally the cutest ice cream place I’ve ever seen. Fielder's Choice Ice Cream is named after Boston baseball. The amount of ice cream you get is way more than what you pay for. I recommend getting a small mint chocolate chip cone.

6. Maine's Best Lighthouse Portland Headlight Is Breathtaking

Maine is full of lighthouses, but Portland Headlight it the most beautiful. The waves crash on the rocks against the lighthouse and make for the perfect picture.

7. Bullmoose Is Made For Music Lovers

Bullmoose is record store chain based in Portland. Each time I have gone to Bullmoose, it has been more than worth the trip. You could spend hours in there looking at all the music. There is even books and movies sold too.

8. Talk A Walk Through Capital Park In Augusta

Augusta is the capital of Maine. There’s a park below the Capital building and it’s beautiful. My favorite part of going to Maine is walking a few laps on the park with my family.

9. There's A Dunkin Donuts On Every Corner

Dunkin Donuts has the best donuts. If you ever need a break for coffee in Maine, there is one on every corner.

10. The Hike To Maiden Cliff Is So Worth It

Located in Camden, Maine, Maiden Cliff is a site to see. Last year was my first time hiking the trail that took forever, but the view took what little breath I had left away. The view is of the local lake.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
