Being the oldest sibling comes with its advantages: more freedom, someone to boss around, and a younger best friend. It also has its disadvantages, especially when your parents try to give you both the same curfew. Thanks, guys! No matter what, though, having a younger sibling is the best. To my little brother, and all of the younger siblings out there, I want to thank you.

1. Thanks for being my partner in crime.

Life would be pretty lonely without you here; and who else would help me annoy Mom and Dad all the time? That's hard work to do, thanks for coming along and always helping out.

2. Thanks for cheering me on.

From all of the softball games and cheerleading competitions, thank you for always being there with Mom and Dad to keep me going. Your support means the world to me.

3. Thanks for making life fun.

Family vacations would be way too boring without you; thank you for filling my life with laughter and love.

4. Thanks for stepping up when needed.

Sometimes you impress me with how mature you are; you are always ready to be my shoulder to cry on or the voice to calm me down. You are younger, but you are someone I look up to.

5. Thanks for being my best friend.

The day you came along, my life was changed for the better. Thanks for loving me and being my best friend and my little brother. I love you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
