Going to bed early is one of my fav things. I love the feeling of snuggling into a bed, just to know I'll be there for the next 8 or so hours, comfortable and cozy. Here are 8 reasons why everyone should practice going to bed early and ensure your bodies are getting enough sleep.

1. You'll Feel At Home

There's nothing that makes me feel more rested than snuggling into bed. It's a safe place where I'm left alone with my thoughts, my feelings, and my heart. I can sort through the day in my safest place and feel completely at home as I lay and think.

2. You Can See Both The Sunset And The Sunrise

Who doesn't love being able to get two for one!? Going to bed early allows you enough sleep to see the sunset before heading in for the night and the privilege of waking up to a bright, beautiful sunrise.

3. It's Healthy

Aligning your biological clock with its natural rhythm of going to bed closer to when the sun goes down, and then rising when the sun goes up, helps avoid the negative impacts of depression and anxiety, associated with the effects sleeplessness can have.

4. Sleep Can Boost Your Memory

Research has found that sleep loss can weaken your long term memory and decision making skills. Staying up late reduces your REM sleep, which is critical memory storing time for our brains!

5. You're More Likely To Be On Time

I'm 100% one of those people that's never on time if I don't get my beauty sleep. When going to bed early, I usually wake up feeling refreshed and actually able to get up before at least the second snooze push.

6. It Helps You Keep The Weight Off

Happy sleeping!

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding.
