12 Reasons to Look Forward to Fall

If you are someone like me, the end of summer can be a sad time. I don't want an end to long, sunny days and warm nights. I want to continue to live my days by the pool and my nights under the stars. It's great to be a summer person, but we should enjoy each season that goes by. There are some exciting things about changing weather with the passing months. Here are a few things to look forward to about the coming of fall.

Changing colors

Summer flowers may be nearing their end, but other plants will be in their prime and leaves will be changing into bright new colors.

Warm clothes

Sweaters, boots, big sweatpants, and comfy hoodies are always something to look forward to.

Pumpkins

Whether you're a pumpkin spice fanatic or you just like to carve them, pumpkins are definitely a fun staple for fall.

Being with friends

One of the pros of going back to school is getting to see your friends every day, especially reconnecting after the summer break.

Hot chocolate, hot tea, hot apple cider, hot coffee

These delicious drinks just warm up the soul.

Fall sports

Football games are something that many people look forward to on the weekend, but soccer, cross country, field hockey, and volleyball are also in their season and can be very exciting to watch.

Campfires

There's nothing like a warm marshmallow roasted over a fire, or even just sitting around a bonfire on a chilly night.

Haunted houses

If you're the type of person that likes scary things, it is the perfect time for a trip to a haunted house or corn maze.

Candy

With Halloween around the corner, stores are stocking up on tons of comfort foods like candy, festive cupcakes, caramel apples, and chocolate.

Decorations

It's always fun to spice up your dorm room or front yard with fall decorations - pumpkins, scarecrows, skeletons, and colorful lights.

Candles

Fall has some great seasonally-scented candles. Some favorites are usually pumpkin spice, apple pie, cinnamon-sugar, and even "autumn air" scents.

The season itself

Even though summer is ending, fall can have beautiful weather. Take time to enjoy the change in season. Whether it's the warmer fall days in the beginning or the brisk days later on, there are lots of things to look forward to.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
