Easter is right around the corner. It’s time for all the all awkward family get togethers, the sickening amount of pastels, and excessive amounts of white chocolate. Even if you don’t celebrate Easter you most likely go home and get the candy on sale. Easter is a weird holiday without the religious background. You look for eggs from a rabbit meanwhile rabbits don’t lay eggs. Everything is pastel white chocolate and nuts and fruit. No one cares more about pastels then Easter time. There’s this odd obsession with carrots but carrots aren’t the main food. We get candy carrots. The main dish for Easter is ham. It’s just a dish completely unrelated to eggs and bunnies and carrots. Thanksgiving makes sense. Christmas is always family dishes but Easter is this weird combination of things. It’s a pastel mess.

1. Extra Break

It’s great to have another break from school. I don’t care if it’s labor day or Flag Day I’m glad I have another break.

2.Candy

As weird as the candy is some of it delicious: Reese’s eggs or Cadbury anything or Chocolate rabbits.

3.Non-Cafe Food

This doesn’t need an explanation

4.Meet Other Families

Most holidays are bug events like Christmas everyone knows to spend with their own family but Easter is the best holiday to go home with your friends from college or meet your S.O’s family. It’s a more relaxed holiday.

5.Room for Creativity

You get to find weird places to hide eggs for the kids in your family or paint eggs in cute ways. You can make Disney themed eggs or tie dye them.

6.It’s Less to Carry

Christmas at someone else’s house is awful because you have to bring not only the food but the gifts. Easter it’s just some food and maybe baskets but it’s all together and easier to carry. It’s not an assortment of boxes and bags and pots.

7.Less Stress

No one really rushes or stresses about Easter dinner/lunch. Thanksgiving dinner is always a busy kitchen. Easter is a very relaxed dinner with easier foods that don’t have to cook for 12 hours. Plus you have the weekend to prep unlike Thanksgiving when everyone has work and classes the Wednesday before.

8. Kids are Hilarious

Kids either hate or love the Easter bunny. Sometimes it's the funniest thing. Kids are just all over the place from the sugar but they have other kids to be entertained with. Eventually they crash from their sugar rush.

No matter what you do for Easter break enjoy your time off.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
